The 2010 British Pike Squad Team Selection Final will take place over the weekend of the 13th & 14th of November on stretches of the Warwickshire Avon.  Saturday will be fished on the Bidford Left Bank, Marcliff A/B/C & Cleeve Prior stretches, whilst Sunday sees us fish between Charlton & Cropthorne. Past experience gained from our previous trips to the area have shown that the river contains plenty of pike, with loads of differing features and pace of flow; from deep slow sections to shallow fast flowing areas. Giving plenty of differing situations to test your angling skills to their utmost.

 

This years Team Selection Final will be based at the Salford-Hall Hotel near Stratford-Upon-Avon (WR11 8UT) ; where Andy Waller has negotiated some fantastic price reductions for us. Cost per night is about £32.50 based on two sharing a room - Fantastic! The food looks superb. (Good prices on that too). A further list of suitable accommodation around the area will be available from myself by e-mail. Post Code for the hotel have been included to help you plan your trip with your Sat-Nav equipment. (Mind you, Roy & Glenn get lost even with one - going to the wrong airport on one occasion!).

 

Registration for the event will be held on the Saturday morning in the hotel's car park from 7.30am where weigh cards will be issued; and all scales checked for accuracy. Fishing is expected to commence by no later than 10.30am with the match finishing at 3.30pm or 4.30pm. Meet back at the hotel base after the day's fishing where the results will be posted as quickly as possible.

 

Entry for this years event is £40, which is inclusive of day tickets for both days, BPS administration fee, plus pools which will be paid out to the top 3 placed anglers from each day, plus a cash prize to the captor of the largest pike overall, and another for the captor of the most pike over the two days. Please Note that ALL CHEQUES MUST be sent to our treasurers Stu and Louise before the 31st of September. Entries received after this date, especially those who decide to pay on the day - will be charged an extra administration fee of £5. So pay early to save yourself that extra Fiver!

 

As usual, we shall be holding a raffle to help raise the funds required to run the BPS; in part financing some of the costs involved in supporting the team each year. So any assistance you can offer in the way of prizes will be gratefully received. Thank you.

 

Please note:- due to the nature of the fishing and distances to be covered combined with steep banks in places, that this match does not favour those with disabilities. You are still more than welcome to come along and compete at your own risk, but be aware of the problems to be faced.
